Applegate Lake

Applegate Lake is a man-made reservoir located in the Applegate Valley of Jackson County, Oregon. The lake was created in 1980 by the construction of the Applegate Dam on the Applegate River. The lake covers an area of 988 acres and has a maximum depth of 225 feet. It is popular for fishing (particularly for rainbow and brown trout), swimming, boating, and camping. The lake also has hiking and mountain biking trails, as well as picnic areas and a campground with over 80 campsites. The surrounding area offers beautiful scenery with forests and mountains.
